Many of the useful invention of man are discovered by accident, like the very famous telephone and the penicillin antibiotic. Through day to day activities, food products can also be invented by accidents.
This story was told by our seminar instructor.
A man was selling hot dog or frankfurters. He was grilling the hot dogs and the customers may get it using skewers, barbecue in short. His recipe was so delicious, customers are always filing up and he always run out of skewers. Barbecue skewers are made of stainless steel and should be returned after eating. Many customers roam around while eating the barbecue, return of skewers were slow and some of the customers failed to return it (store was located inside the carnival).
To compensate for the lack of skewers, he asked his customers to use gloves when skewers were not available. However, the return of skewers and gloves were still slow. The problem mentioned in previous paragraph was not yet solved.
Nearby his business location, another man was selling bread buns. The problem of this man was he was unable to sold all of his commodities.
The first man found a very nice solution that solved their problems. The next day, he asked the customers to used bread buns to hold the frankfurter barbecue when skewers were not available. The lack of gloves and skewers and the unsold bread buns problems were history.
It is believed that the use of bread buns to hold the hod dog barbecue gave birth to hot dog sandwich.
