Guyabano Health Benefits – It Cures Cancer?
Guyabano/ soursop/ guayabano/ graviolla has the following health benefits according to Bureau of Plant Industry:
Analyses of the flesh of the fruit show that it is deficient in calcium and phosphorus. According to Jansen and Donath it is deficient in vitamin A. Hermano and Sepulveda, however, report that it is an excellent source of vitamins B and C. Prinsan-Geerlings reports that the flesh of the fruit contains saccharose 2.53%, dextrose 5.05% and levulose 0.04 %.
The bark was studied by Greshoff who isolated and amorphous alkaloid, soluble in sodium or potassium hydroxide, but Ridley and Daruty is astringent, and is used in powdered form in diarrhea and dysentery. Kirtikar and Basu and Nadkarni say that it is much used as tonic by the Malays and Chinese. The fruit is used as an anthelmintic, and the unripe and dried fruit, also astringent, is used in diarrhea, among the Amerindians. With sugar, the pulp is refreshing, and is prescribed for diarrhea in Guiana, Antilles and Reunion. Tavera reports the roots are used by Amerindians to treat epilepsy.
I am not done yet. There are more!
1. The fruit is claimed to be a miraculous natural cancer cell killer 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy. It has anti tumor effect and a proven remedy to all types of cancer.
2. A potent antimicrobial agent for both bacterial and fungal infections, is effective against internal parasites and worms, lowers high blood pressure and is used for depression, stress and nervous disorders.

@maretes – I read that tea can be made out of leaf, bark and roots. It is used for treatment of various ailments. There is no specific instruction but you can boil a specific amount until the water color absorbed the root pigments. The instruction is still vague but I am hoping that it can help solve your problem. All parts of guyabano tree are generally safe except for the seeds, it contain toxins.
I will post update once I see valuable information.

i would like to know if guyabano effectively lowers bad cholesterol. puwede po ba yong guyabano leaves tea? kung hindi man sa choleterol puwede po ba itong pampababa ng blood pressure?
[Reply]
Here’s how to prepare guyabano tea:
Air dry the guyabano leaves. Air drying will concentrate the healing benefits, therefore more effective. When dried, shred the leaves and measure one cup to a liter of water. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat to low, and simmer for 20 minutes. Drink 3 cups a day, 30 minutes before each meal.
Do this everyday for a period of 30 days only because the powerful tea will kill the good bacteria in your gut if you take it for more than 30 days. If you need to, or if your sick condition persists, give your body a one week break before continuing with the tea.
It would be good to take probiotics while undergoing the guyabano tea treatment to support your gut flora. Also, avoid too much meats, eat lots of fruits and veggies and eliminate softdrinks, sugar and sweets from your diet.
For more info, go to http://www.rain-tree.com/graviola.htm ;
Graviola is the guyabano plant.
Hope this helps!

Guyabano leaves for cancer:
Leaves may be fresh or air dried. I used air dried leaves for my thyroid cancer symptoms.
Take air dried guyabano leaves, cut with scissors into thin strips, and measure one 8 oz. cup. Boil a liter of water in a saucepan, and when the water starts boiling add the guyabano leaves, allow to boil for at least 5 minutes, then lower the heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes more. After that, switch off. Let cool. Now, you have tea for one whole day. When you prepare guyabano tea, make only enough for the day because the potency of the tea is good only for up to 8 hours. Throw away left over tea. Make fresh tea the next day.
Drink an 8 oz. glass of the guyabano tea before meals, 3 times a day, for 30 days only. More than that, the tea will affect your gut flora. Guyabano tea is so powerful. It will not harm your good cells but it will destroy the good bacteria in your stomach; so it would be good to take probiotics while undergoing this treatment.
If after 30 days your cancer symptoms are still there, rest your body for 10 days then repeat the treatment.
Good luck, and God bless!
